Microsoft have announced that changes are coming to Lync Online in Office 365. Lync is joining the Skype family, so in the coming months, Lync will be changing to Skype for Business.
This change will be rolled out to all Office 365 customers over the coming months but we will keep you appraised with the changes.
All Lync software will migrate to the Skype name so Lync 2013 clients will become Skype for Business clients; Lync Online will become Skype for Business Online, etc.
The look and feel of the software will remain pretty much as they are but with a more familiar Skype feel to it.
Meetings experience and controls will have the look and feel of Skype as well.
You will be able to contact Skype contacts more readily through the new interface as well.
